Seminole Connections
Seminole Indians traded at the Stuart Feed Store from the early days. A 1908 picture shows a Seminole lady (we believe her name to be Annie Fagey)walking with two pigs in front of the store.  We still have a Seminole connection with our friend from the Brighton reservation who creates beautiful Seminole dolls and items for our Gift Shop.

We are so proud of our connection to the Seminoles, we use Annie's likeness as our Museum logo.

In the Museum's backyard, you'll find a real Seminole chickee, (built by a member of the Brighton reserva-
tion), and done in honor of our friend and long-time member Juanita Geary.
Spend some time looking at the river or at the beautiful mural depicting Seminole life, and painted by Jose Martinez, of Indiantown, Florida.
